This diploma, created in 1986 at the initiative of OIV, is managed in partnership with Montpellier SupAgro, which provides students with a specialized postgraduate degree (M2).
The objective is to enable students to master all aspects of vine and wine sector management (marketing, management, economy, law, human resources, communication...) covering sector-specific dimensions and the diversity of international practices.
The itinerant program takes place on multiple sites. It is based on intercultural openness and situational training. Beyond a detailed understanding of the sector’s economic dimensions, this research and networking approach allows students to acquire transversal skills to analyze all of the strategic data of a complex situation and propose specific operational responses.
Language of instruction : In French and English
The training program (in English and French) extends over 16 months and across 25 countries; it is organized in 30 modules, each devoted to a specific theme and to a host region which is studied and visited (transnational experiential pedagogy). A university or professional center organizes each module.
The training takes place every year for 16 months, from October to January:
Candidates of all nationalities, selected for their motivation, who have successfully completed four years of higher education in the field of management sciences, human sciences, or science and technology, or hold significant professional experience. A three-year curriculum structured around modules can be organized for working professionals.
Students must be enrolled at the graduate level in a university that is a member of the AUIV (International University Association of Wine), such as Montpellier SupAgro, from which they receive an advanced double degree.
Through its original design, the OIV international diploma decisively enriches all professionals who will hold positions of responsibility and decision-making in organizations and companies in the vine and wine sector.
