Objective

This master-level training aims to prepare students to become œnologists able to:

  • design a vineyard and develop strategies for its management and maintenance in order to obtain quality grapes to produce wines;
  • master the technical, legal and economic knowledge required to develop a wine in accordance with standards of composition and quality;
  • understand markets and be able to promote a wine in the framework of commercial trade.

    At Montpellier SupAgro, DNO is jointly awarded (double degree) with:

    • French Agricultural Engineering diploma – “Viticulture-Œnology” option
    • International Master Agronomy and Agrifood Science degree - “Vine and Wine” specialization

    Specialized internships are part of the DNO program. The reports prepared following these internships are evaluated during an oral presentation, at the end of which the DNO is awarded.

  • Admissions

    At Montpellier SupAgro, this course is only accessible to students enrolled in the French Agricultural Engineering diploma (Viticulture-Œnology option), or in the International Master Agronomy and Agrifood degree (Vine and Wine specialization). A bachelor’s degree in the fields of biological, chemical, biochemical, or agronomic sciences, or any other diploma leading to a higher education level equivalent to 180 ECTS in the same fields, is required.
