How to apply for an academic exchange?

Students from universities with which L'Institut Agro Montpellier has signed an exchange agreement can come to take courses in agronomy, agri-food and the management of rural areas and combine this with an internship.


  • Eligibility criteria

    • Partnership: students are admitted through bilateral or multilateral exchange programs such as Erasmus+ KA131, Erasmus+ KA171, Brafagri, Brafitec, Arfagri, Mexfitec and bilateral  Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Exchange students should be registered as a regular student at one of the partner universities.

    Academic partners and exchange programs

    • Academic level: depending on the chosen tracks, students should show official evidence of completion of a minimum of 4 to 6 semesters (120 to 180 ECTS) of graduate studies before the beginning of their academic exchange. Please consult the specific information on each Track. The academic level and course requirements will be taken into account in the analysis of the application files.
    • Language level: students must have a B1/B2 level in French or in English, depending on the selected courses.
  • Applications

    Students must be nominated by their home university.

    The nomination and application deadlines are:

    • April 30th for full year or autumn semester

    L'Institut Agro Montpellier uses an online application for incoming exchange students. Each nominated student will receive an email with his/her login and password and instructions on how to complete of his/her application: ID-photo, ID-document, Transcript of records of higher education, Language certificates in French and/or English, depending on courses, Cover letter and Learning agreement.

  • Admission letter

    Applications will be submitted to the professors in charge of the courses chosen by the students.

    All applications will be analyzed by an Admissions Committee that will produce the letters of acceptance or recommendations to students who have requested courses that are not available.

    Letters of admission will be sent no later than one month after the application deadline. The admission letter permits the student to apply for student housing in one of our residences.
