There are several grant programmes for international students who wish to come and study in France. Depending on your home country and chosen course of study, application procedures, selection criteria and the method of awarding scholarships may vary according to the donors or exchange programs involved.

 Merit grants

EIFFEL for PhD level


€1400/month and 1 roundtrip airfare.

In addition, the costs of several services (healthcare, cultural activities) are covered.


  • 35 years old maximum at the time of application
  • Only foreign candidates are eligible (candidates with dual nationality, one of which French, are ineligible)


  • Applications are selected and submitted by the institution in which the student will be enrolled during the following academic year
  • Submit your application to the head or secretariat of the chosen master’s level training program at Montpellier SupAgro


  • Applications open: mid October
  • Deadline for submitting applications ( December
  • Deadline for the receipt of applications by Campus France: January
  • Announcement of results: March

Jean Monnet grant


The grant covers:

  • registration fees
  • travel to France and daily transportation
  • housing
  • books
  • visa fees
  • health insurance


  • Under 40 years of age on the day applications open
  • Master, PhD student, Postdoctoral fellow
  • Be a Turkish national
  • Other selection criteria

World Bank grant


 Maximum of $25,000 upon submission of the candidate’s research budget (duration: 5 to 10 months)


  • Be a civil servant or a similar function in one’s home country
  • Be under 45 years of age at the time of applying


  • Send an application form accompanied by a letter of recommendation (professional or academic)
  • Submit a declaration of acceptance by the PhD school at Montpellier SupAgro
