There are several grant programmes for international students interested in coming to study in France. Depending on your home country and chosen course of study, application procedures, selection criteria and scholarship award procedure may vary according to the donor or exchange program involved.

 Merit grants

SupAgro Fondation: International Excellence Grant

Amount

SupAgro Fondation provides international excellence grants which covers part of the costs of the engineering programme "Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems for the South" (SAADS) and the International Master’s programme “Agronomy and Agrifood Science” (Master 3A).


Eligibility

International candidates admitted to the SAADS Engineering or International Master 3A programmes..

Procedure

  • After being admitted, send a letter to the Department of Studies and Student Life (SEVE in French) at Montpellier SupAgro in which you request a SupAgro Foundation scholarship and justify your need for financial support.
  • The grants are awarded by Montpellier SupAgro’s Scholarship Committee.

Erasmus Mundus/Erasmus+ training programmes

Amount

  • €1000/month over 24 months (Cat. A*)
  • €500/month over 24 months (Cat. B)

There also are stipends to cover installation and travel costs.

* All countries with the exception of European Union member states, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein.

Eligibility

  • Open to all countries
  • Bachelor-BSc (180 ECTS) or equivalent in the field of agricultural sciences
  • Academic excellence (1st class  or 2nd class with honours)

Procedure

  • Register online for the European Master degree in Plant Health in Sustainable Cropping Systems (PlantHealth)
  • Attach a convincing letter of motivation and recommendation letters from 2 references

EIFFEL Scholarship for engineering and master’s levels

Amount

€1181/month over 12 months (entry in M2) or 24 months (entry in M1) or 36 months (engineering programme).

Several other costs (round trip travel, healthcare, cultural activities) also are covered.


Eligibility

  • maximum age: 30 years for the master’s level
  • Only foreign candidates are eligible (dual nationality candidates holding French citizenship are not eligible)

Procedure

  • Applications are selected and submitted by the institution in which the student will be enrolled during the following academic year
  • Submit your application to the head or secretariat of the chosen master’s level training programme at Montpellier SupAgro

  • Applications open: mid October
  • Deadline for submitting applications (dsa-sril-eiffel@supagro.fr ): December
  • Deadline for the receipt of applications by Campus France: January
  • Announcement of results: March

Amount

Fondation Benianh International Grant

Amount

The grant is limited to 4 million FCFA (€6,000) and is paid directly to the host institution to cover tuition fees (if these are less than the amount of the scholarship, the difference is paid to the prize-winner for education or research expenses).

  • Ranked at the top of your class (merit grant)
  • Under 35 years of age when applying
  • Pre-enrolled at an internationally recognized university or higher education institution

  • Documents to provide to apply for the Fondation Benianh International grant
  • The application is submitted directed to the Fondation's headquarters

EULALinks SENSE

Amount

The grant for a master’s programme is €1000/month (over 12 months) and covers:

  • part of transportation costs (amount depending on the distance between the country of origin and the host university)
  • insurance
  • part of living expenses

World Bank Grant

Amount

The grant covers:

  • a round trip ticket
  • €375 transportation allowance
  • tuition fees and health insurance
  • monthly living allowance (housing and food)

Eligibility

  • A national of a member state of the World Bank that meets the conditions for borrowing
  • For holders of dual nationalities, not a national of a developed country
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Have at least 3 years of recent experience in development
  • Not a staff member (including consultants) or affiliated with a World Bank Group staff member

  • Applications close: 23 February
