Montpellier SupAgro upholds a long tradition of international training and research. The institution actively supports the international mobility of its students and teachers: between 23 and 30% of the student body are international students, numerous researchers in the school’s training programmes and research units are from abroad, and the institution places great emphasis on exchanges and collaborative training and research projects.
The aim is to enable all graduates to work in at least two foreign languages, and to be prepared for internationally oriented professions thanks to an ambitious policy of learning several foreign languages, internships, academic mobility around the world, and double degrees with international universities.
The mobility of faculty as well as the wealth of lecturers with professional experience outside France contribute to the international character of the training programmes.
Montpellier SupAgro aims to expand its recruitment of international students into its engineering, master’s and PhD courses, notably by setting up framework agreements and double degree agreements with international partner universities.
The attractiveness and quality of the training programmes are continually reinforced through active participation in the preparation of European masters and doctorates in the institution’s areas of excellence and by seeking Erasmus Mundus and Erasmus + quality labels. The active search for scholarship arrangements and the development of French as a Foreign Language (FLE) training courses for non-French speaking students reinforces this mechanism.
By emphasizing long-term activities with recognized partners, Montpellier SupAgro intends to build, in line with its scientific policy, strengthened international cooperation in research and training in its fields of excellence, and improve the attractiveness, reputation, and quality of its training programmes.
Montpellier SupAgro intends to contribute by acting in coherence with the networks in which it is involved to reform and improve technical and higher education agricultural training programmes in Africa, Asia, America Latin as well as in countries neighbouring Europe. In particular, the school implements and contributes to several capacity building and trainer-training programmes.
