To train researchers and scientists to apply concepts and tools derived from microbiology and microbial ecology to industrial, environmental and health sectors.

The IMHE specialization aims at building in-depth knowledge of microbial systems through an integrated approach that studies micro-organisms as cells, populations and communities, explores their interactions with other organisms (humans, animals, plants), and considers their roles (biodiversity) in the functioning of industrial, aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
IMHE tackles various issues of microbiology research through an integrated vision of microbial systems combining fundamental, applied and industrial research.

Prerequisites for the M2: validated and completed 1st year of a master’s program or the 2nd year of an engineering program (Bac+4 level).
Graduates of this course may continue with a doctoral program and then work in public or private research and higher education institutions as engineers, researchers, and professor-researchers.
Opportunities also exist in innovative biotech companies and local government agencies.
The IMHE Master 2 specialization is co-accredited by the University of Montpellier and Montpellier SupAgro.
