From the behavior of cereal grains to agrifood products and other agro-resources to food and bio-based products
The plant agro-resources processing platform is a transversal tool providing staff and equipment for research and training activities, of the joint research unit IATE (INRAE, CIRAD, University of Montpellier, Montpellier SupAgro) and Montpellier SupAgro students. It includes pilot equipment and instrumented prototypes. The equipment available allows batch and continuous work, and can handle quantities ranging from grams to kilograms.
The platform processes raw plant material of various origins (cereals, lignocellulosic material) destined to be transformed into food, energy, biomaterials or biomolecules (green chemistry), thus making it possible to:

Located in Montpellier on Gaillarde campus, the IATE plant agro-resources processing platform is also an innovative facility used for training Montpellier SupAgro students.
Each year, agricultural engineering students participate in the ECOTROPHELIA competition. By designing and presenting tomorrow’s food products, they prepare and shape the future of the food industry.
