Admission requirements

For international applicants

If you have a Campus France office in your country and you wish to apply, you must contact the Campus France in your country to prepare your application.

Important: check the deadline for submission of online applications to Campus France.

In addition to submitting applications online to Campus France, you must also file an application with Montpellier SupAgro’s Institute for Higher Education in Tropical and Sub-tropical Agri-Food Sciences (IRC). If you fail to do so, your application will not be considered.

  • BSc.

    Admittance through entrance exams

    • Exam specific to the Institute for Higher Education in Tropical and Sub-Tropical Agri-Food Sciences (IRC) at Montpellier SupAgro
    • National exams: A BIO (BCPST), B BIO, C BIO, C2 (information exam service)

    Academic level - Bac + 2 minimum - Diplomas accepted:

    • Completion of the 2nd year of the preparatory cycle at a major scientific school
    • Bachelor of Science – Professionally oriented Bachelor of Science
    • DUT - BTS in science and technology - BTSA

    The specific IRC exam application file is to be completed online before April, 5th.

  • M.Sc 1

    DE competition (concours DE)

    DE competition is reserved for:

    • foreign applicants holding a degree or diploma in a scientific field attesting to at least four years of higher education or the acquisition of 240 European credits (240 ECTS)
    • candidates who have completed the first year of a masters’ programme (M1) at an international institution that has signed an agreement with Montpellier SupAgro to award a double engineering diploma

    This competition includes an initial selection based on a review of applicants’ files; candidates selected are then interviewed by a jury. The application file is to be completed online between September, 17th and October, 18th.

  • M.Sc 2

    Admission based on application file and interview

    • Erasmus international students
    • Students who have successfully completed the 2nd year of a prestigious agricultural engineering program.
    • Students who have successfully completed the 4th year of an engineering program at an institution in which the preparatory cycle is integrated in the program (FESIA, LaSalle Beauvais, ESITPA).

    Applications must be obtained from the candidate's schools of origin (list above). The applications are sent by the relevant department at the schools to the Institute for Higher Education in Tropical and Sub-Tropical Agri-Food Sciences (IRC) at Montpellier SupAgro.

    • May-June: interview
    • End June: admission committee meets
    • Results are sent individually; candidates must confirm their acceptance no later than mid July.

    NOTE: Admission in the 3rd year implies that the engineering diploma will be obtained from the school of origin and not Montpellier SupAgro.
